The Benefits of Long Term Rehabilitation

Thousands of people are struggling with a drug and alcohol addiction, but when it comes to getting help they don't always know where to turn. Should the program be local? Should you get the addict out of the area? What's the difference between long term versus short term rehabs?

Most drug and alcohol counselors will advise that it's always best to get the addict out of the area. This is the best way to eliminate any environmental reminders of the drug and it also eliminates any immediate stress that an addict may feel.

Long term rehabilitation allows a person to not only fully get over any lingering withdrawal symptoms, but it also gives them time to figure out what problem drugs and alcohol were a solution for in the first place.
